The Washington Summer Institute is designed to enhance the experience of those who want to explore Washington, DC as tourists, not as students.
Mason cannot support applications for F-1 visas for these short-term programs. However, participants are eligible to attend these programs on visitor B-1 and B-2 visas. If you need documentation for the purposes of a visa request, please reach out to us here.
Mason will provide a letter of invitation that can be used as part of the US Consulate interview for a visa application. For those already residing in the US on an F-1, J-1, H-1, H-4 or another visa status and who would like to participate in the program, it may be possible on a case-by-case basis.
