How it Works

Credit Transfer

All of the GEO programs are taught by George Mason University Faculty and offer 3-15 accredited George Mason University semester credits. Talk to your institution's study abroad office about the transfer credit process. Please send us an email if you will need additional documentation for course transfer approval (syllabi, proof of enrollment, etc.).

Cost and Financing

Costs can be found on the brochure page for each program. As a Non-Mason student on a GEO program, you are not eligible for federal financial aid through George Mason University, but you may be able to use your federal aid through your home institution. Talk to your study abroad office and your financial aid office at your home institution to see the procedure in your situation. Many times, you will need to show your coursework will transfer back for credit (please see above about credit transfer). We also encourage you to apply for any and all scholarships you may be eligible for.
